About this project
Recimind is a mobile-first web app that solves one of the most common daily frustrations: standing in front of a full fridge with no idea what to cook.
Instead of searching for recipes and hoping you have the right ingredients, you show the app what you have. Take a photo of your fridge, your counter, or whatever ingredients are in front of you. The AI identifies every food item it can see and generates a complete, personalized recipe in seconds — factoring in your time, your mood, and any dietary preferences.
No typing. No searching. No opening five recipe tabs and realizing you're missing the one key ingredient. Just point, answer a couple of quick questions, and you have a full recipe ready to follow — including a realistic AI-generated photo of the finished dish.

The problem it solves
You get home after work. You open the fridge. There's stuff in there — vegetables, half a block of cheese, leftover rice, a few eggs. You know there's probably a meal in there somewhere. But figuring out what it is takes creative mental energy that isn't always available. So you close the fridge, open a delivery app, and spend money you didn't plan to spend.
Recimind removes that friction entirely. It also tackles food waste — the app is especially good at the end-of-week moment when you have a mix of things that need to be used up and no obvious idea what to make.
How it works
Step 1 — Scan your fridge. Open Recimind and tap "Scan Fridge." Point your camera at whatever you have. The AI identifies every ingredient, one by one, as it works through the image.
Step 2 — Review the list. Check what the AI found, correct anything it missed, and add pantry staples that weren't in the photo.
Step 3 — Set your preferences. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack. How much time you have. Any special requests: "no dairy," "something spicy," "impress me." See the full how it works guide.
Step 4 — Get your recipe. A complete, personalized recipe appears — title, overview, cook time, difficulty, ingredients, step-by-step instructions, tips, and a generated photo of the finished dish.
Everything you generate is saved automatically to your recipe history. Star anything you love and it goes to your favorites.

Scan Recipe
You can also photograph a physical recipe — a cookbook page, a recipe card, even a handwritten note — and Recimind digitizes it into the same clean format as everything else. It reads handwriting. It handles faded text. Your grandmother's recipes, dog-eared magazine pages, sticky notes — all of it can live in your collection, searchable and organized.
The stack
Built with Next.js App Router, Supabase for auth and storage, Anthropic's Claude for image analysis, and Google Gemini for recipe generation and dish photography. Deployed on Vercel. Tailwind CSS v4 with a dark, mobile-first design system.
